Ronan Aged-Zinc Finish Iron Planter

An outdoor iron planter with an aged-zinc finish and removable liner, the Ronan iron planter brings a tapered silhouette to a substantial planting display. Ring handles and a raised support frame give the form definition. Choose Small, Medium or Large, each with a liner drain hole fitted with a plug.

Ideal for: Transitional entrances, rustic terraces and Industrial or Modern Farmhouse settings with architectural planting.

Key Features

• Iron Construction: An iron body sits within a supporting frame. A separate removable liner holds the planting arrangement within the outer frame.
• Tapered Form with Ring Handles: A round opening narrows toward the base, with two ring handles and vertical supports adding detail. Raised feet complete the outline below the planting vessel.
• Aged-Zinc Appearance: The dark, varied finish evokes aged zinc while the underlying material remains iron. Weather exposure affects finish longevity, so its appearance requires appropriate care over time.
• Three Size Options: Small, Medium and Large share the same design in graduated proportions. Each planter is sold separately, allowing a single feature or a coordinated group.
• Removable Liner and Drain Plug: Lift out the liner to access the planting container separately. Its drain hole is fitted with a plug; manage drainage around the placement and protect surfaces underneath.
• Architectural Outdoor Styling: Dark metal provides a clear contrast beside foliage, pale masonry and natural timber. Its restrained form works with both traditional surroundings and simpler contemporary garden materials.

Care & Use

Suitable for outdoor use. Exposure to weather conditions affects the longevity of the finish. To refresh the luster, apply a clear coat of Rust-Oleum according to the coating’s directions.

Design & Atmosphere

The tapered vessel and raised frame give this planter an architectural identity. Ring handles break up the upright sides, adding a familiar garden detail without introducing an elaborate pattern or competing with the planting above.

Light reveals the varied metal finish along the curved body and vertical supports. Against pale stone, the darker outline becomes more pronounced; beside timber or brick, it feels quieter and more closely related to the setting.

Choose a size around the planting and the available floor space. Leave clear room around the feet and handles, and consider how the foliage will extend beyond the rim as the arrangement takes shape.

The design works with clipped greenery in a formal entrance or looser foliage on a relaxed terrace. Repeating the metal finish elsewhere can connect the planter to lighting, door furniture or a simple outdoor table.

A single planted vessel can give an otherwise empty corner a sense of purpose. The balance of dark iron and softer greenery creates a composed focal point while leaving the surrounding architecture easy to appreciate.

Curator’s Styling Tip

Group two different sizes with space between their frames. Repeat the same foliage type to connect the planting while the graduated heights provide the variation.
