Carys Rounded Blue Dimpled Ceramic Vase

A broad, rounded clay vase with a blue reactive glaze and an organic dimpled surface, combining a full sculptural body with an open neck for decorative stem arrangements.

Ideal for: Coastal, Modern Organic and Transitional interiors seeking a substantial rounded accent for a console or larger tabletop.

Key Features

• Full Rounded Clay Form: The broad body curves into a smaller opening, creating a generous silhouette with a defined shoulder. This relationship gives the vase a strong presence even when styled without stems.
• Organic Dimpled Texture: An irregular dotted pattern extends around the body, adding small changes in depth and reflected light. The texture keeps the large curved surface visually interesting without needing painted motifs or additional decoration.
• Varied Blue Reactive Glaze: The reactive finish moves between blue and paler areas across the patterned surface. Glaze variation is expected, allowing each piece to carry its own tonal character while coordinating with the other Carys designs.
• Broad 14.25-Inch Footprint: Measuring 14.25 inches wide and 11.75 inches high, the vase emphasizes width as much as height. It suits a generous console or tabletop where the full body can be appreciated without crowding neighboring pieces.
• Decorative Floral Styling: The opening offers a natural point for arranging faux flowers or branches above the rounded body. Alternatively, leave it empty to focus on the glaze and form; decorative interior use is specified.
• Coordinated Shapes Sold Separately: The tall vase, low narrow-neck vase and decorative plate share the same visual language with different proportions. Choose a contrasting companion to repeat the finish without making the display feel uniform.

Design & Atmosphere

The rounded Carys vase has a notably different presence from a tall stem vessel. Its broad body brings the visual weight lower, while the smaller opening creates a clean transition into an arrangement above. That combination allows it to anchor a wide surface as a sculptural object in its own right.

Across the curve, the blue reactive glaze emphasizes an organic dotted texture. Pale areas between the dots soften the overall color, while the glossy highlights reveal the shape as light moves around it. Expected variations in the glaze mean the piece should be appreciated for its individual finish rather than a perfectly uniform surface.

At 14.25 inches wide, this vase benefits from a surface with enough breathing room. A wide console, sideboard or larger table lets its shoulders remain visible. If adding faux flowers, consider a loose arrangement that extends outward rather than concealing the entire upper portion of the vase.

The rounded form can soften a room with strong horizontal furniture lines, while the blue glaze supplies a measured area of color. Pale wood and linen bring out a relaxed Coastal mood. Against darker furniture or simple contemporary artwork, the same texture becomes a more pronounced decorative feature.

The coordinating Carys pieces offer a way to repeat that color without repeating the shape. A shallow plate or the taller tapered vase can add a useful contrast nearby. Keep each piece visually separate, allowing the collection’s shared texture to connect the room without turning the arrangement into a crowded group.

The Curator’s Styling Tip

Give this broad vase the largest area of a console, then place the decorative plate lower and slightly to one side. Choose airy faux flowers from the artificial flora collection and leave part of the vase’s shoulder visible.

Anchor a larger tabletop with the rounded Carys vase and its softly varied blue ceramic texture.
