A hand-thrown terracotta decorative bowl with two small handles, the Armand bowl gives a low arrangement a richly glazed foundation. Green or Ochre glaze meets a natural pottery base, with a broad opening that also makes an attractive display when left empty.

Ideal for: Console and coffee-table arrangements in French Country, Modern Farmhouse and Transitional interiors.

Key Features

  • Hand-Thrown Terracotta: The pottery is shaped by hand, with natural differences in size and color. These variations are part of its handmade character.
  • Low Bowl with Twin Handles: A broad circular body sits close to the display surface, with a small loop handle at either side. The low outline provides a counterpoint to taller pottery.
  • Glaze and Exposed Base: Green and Ochre finishes meet an exposed natural terracotta base. The contrast between glossy color and unglazed pottery gives the vessel its two-tone appearance.
  • Generous Display Width: The wide opening offers room for a restrained grouping of decorative objects. Leave part of the interior visible to appreciate the bowl itself.
  • Decorative Arrangement: Style the bowl with decorative orbs or other dry accents, or display it empty to reveal the glazed interior.
  • Southern European Inspiration: The pottery form draws on traditional ceramics of southern Europe. It works with rustic timber, woven textiles and relaxed country interiors.

Care & Use

For decorative interior use only. Dust with a dry cloth. Protect fine furniture from contact with rough pottery. Line the interior when necessary for a decorative arrangement. Handcrafted pieces vary in size and color.

Design & Atmosphere

The broad opening and small side handles give this bowl a useful balance of simplicity and character. Its low silhouette brings a horizontal line to an arrangement, allowing taller objects nearby to remain visible without the pottery becoming a background piece.

The glazed interior carries color across the whole opening, with reflections revealing the circular marks and curves of the surface. The natural base offers a quieter contrast beneath that sheen. Green creates a leafy note, while Ochre brings a warmer accent.

On a console, place the bowl beside a taller vase rather than directly beneath it. A coffee table offers another setting where the interior can be seen from above. Leave a little clear surface around the handles so the full outline remains visible.

The unembellished form sits easily beside woven textures and more detailed pottery. In a room with patterned textiles, its single-color finish can provide a calmer focal point. Smooth wood or stone surfaces give the handmade texture a clear contrast.

A few well-chosen objects can change the mood of the display, but the bowl does not need to be filled. Its open interior and balanced proportions make an equally considered decorative accent on their own.

Curator’s Styling Tip

Arrange three decorative orbs toward one side of the bowl and leave the other side open. The empty space reveals the glaze and keeps the display from feeling crowded.

Bring a grounded, low-profile accent to your room with the Armand handled terracotta decorative bowl.
