Baxter Antique Brass-Finish Dachshund Sculpture

Baxter is a cast aluminum dachshund sculpture with an antique brass finish, capturing the breed's long body, short legs and expressive face in a compact decorative accent.

Ideal for: Eclectic, Transitional and relaxed Traditional interiors seeking an animal-inspired detail with warm metallic character.

Key Features

• Cast Aluminum Body: The cast metal gives the sculpture a defined, dimensional form that holds its shape from every angle. Its small scale makes it an easy accent among books or alongside objects in contrasting materials.
• Recognizable Dachshund Silhouette: An elongated body, low stance and drooping ears give Baxter the familiar outline of the breed. Those distinctive proportions bring a lighthearted note without requiring a large or elaborate display.
• Antique Brass Finish: Warm gold tones and darker surface areas give the metal a weathered appearance. The finish adds a little metallic depth beside pale ceramics, natural wood or a stack of clothbound books.
• Compact Tabletop Dimensions: Measuring 7 inches wide, 2.25 inches deep and 4 inches high, Baxter fits into smaller decorative arrangements. Its low profile is useful when a shelf or side table needs a finishing detail rather than another tall object.
• Expressive Sculptural Detail: The face, ears and short legs give the figure its personality while keeping the overall shape easy to read. An angled placement lets those details become part of the arrangement instead of reducing the piece to a flat outline.
• A Personal Accent for the Room: Use the dachshund as a small point of interest on a bookshelf, console or side table. Its warm finish can connect with existing metal accents, while the animal form adds a more individual note to a restrained setting.

Design & Atmosphere

Baxter brings a recognizable canine character to the tabletop. The long body and short legs create a low, horizontal silhouette, while the face and ears give the figure its expressive quality. It is a small sculpture that can add a personal note without taking over the surrounding display.

The antique brass finish gives the cast aluminum a warmer appearance. Darker areas sit beside brighter gold-toned surfaces, emphasizing the shape of the body and the modeled details. That variation makes the finish more interesting beside a quieter surface such as pale pottery or a plain wooden shelf.

The 7-inch width is useful for styling across the top of a small stack of books or within a wider console arrangement. At only 4 inches high, Baxter can sit below artwork or taller vessels without blocking them. A little space around the nose and tail helps the full dachshund outline remain visible.

The piece works naturally in Eclectic rooms that mix personal objects with more conventional decorative forms. Its warm metal finish also suits Transitional and Traditional spaces, particularly where wood and textured fabrics already provide a comfortable background. The animal shape supplies the lighter, more playful detail.

Rather than filling every gap with another vessel or candleholder, use Baxter where a room would benefit from a little personality. The sculpture can be the small object that draws the eye closer to a shelf or side table. Kept within a simple arrangement, its familiar proportions and expressive face have room to be appreciated.

The Curator’s Styling Tip

Angle Baxter slightly across a stack of books so the face and long body are both visible. Keep a nearby vase or frame simple, and choose a surface that contrasts with the warm finish so the short legs and tail do not disappear into the background.

Add a little character to your favorite shelf with Baxter—a compact dachshund sculpture in a warm antique brass finish.
