Rosalie Blue and White Porcelain Parrot Ginger Jar, 14 Inch

A blue and white porcelain ginger jar with parrot and flowering-branch decoration, the Rosalie parrot ginger jar brings illustrated detail to a shaped lidded vessel. Standing 14 inches high, it combines rounded shoulders, a narrowing body and a removable lid for a closed display or an indoor arrangement of faux floral stems.

Ideal for: Traditional and Chinoiserie consoles, shelves and ceramic groupings that benefit from a medium-height patterned jar.

Key Features

• Hand-Painted and Hand-Stamped Porcelain: The porcelain decoration combines hand painting and hand stamping, bringing individual variation to the pattern. This gives the piece a collected quality while keeping the blue and white palette consistent with coordinating ceramics.
• Parrot Motif on White Porcelain: Blue parrots and flowering branches give the jar a distinct illustrated character. The white background keeps the botanical lines clear and offers a lighter contrast to coordinating pieces with a blue ground.
• Shaped Ginger-Jar Body: Rounded shoulders narrow toward the lower body, creating an upright form with a defined change in width. The silhouette provides a useful contrast to round bowls and low lidded boxes within a porcelain arrangement.
• Removable Patterned Lid: The separate lid repeats the decoration and completes the closed outline. Removing it allows the jar to be styled with faux floral stems, while the lid can remain visible beside the arrangement.
• 14-Inch Height: The jar measures 10.5 inches long and wide and 14 inches high. Its scale can provide height on a console or within a shelf display without the larger footprint of the tall lotus ginger jar.
• Flexible Decorative Pairing: Display it alone to focus on the parrot illustration, or combine it with a coordinating bowl or smaller lidded jar. Flowers and other props in the gallery are not included with the porcelain vessel.

Care & Use

Handcrafted pieces vary in size and color. Dust with a dry cloth. Protect fine furniture by lining the interior of the pottery when necessary. Decorative interior use only.

Design & Atmosphere

The shaped body gives this parrot ginger jar a clear vertical presence. Rounded shoulders lead into a narrower lower section, while the lid finishes the outline without a tall finial. This creates a different silhouette from the shorter, rounder lidded jar in the same decorative family.

The white porcelain carries blue parrots among flowers and branches. The lighter background lets the illustrated forms stand out and offers a useful contrast when the jar is paired with blue-ground lotus pieces. Hand painting and hand stamping introduce individual variation across the pattern.

At 14 inches high, the jar can provide the height within a medium-scale display. Allow space around its 10.5-inch footprint and check the shelf clearance if using it in a bookcase. A footed decorative bowl or lower catchall box can accompany it without concealing the body.

The botanical illustration suits a collected Chinoiserie arrangement, while its blue and white palette also works beside more restrained furniture. Wood, a woven tray or a plain ceramic object can provide contrast without adding another illustrated surface. A little empty space keeps the parrot motif readable.

The removable lid allows the vessel to remain a closed decorative jar or support an arrangement of faux stems. Keep it indoors and dust with a dry cloth. With either approach, let the shoulders and illustrated body remain visible so the vase-like silhouette contributes to the display.

The Curator’s Styling Tip

Place the jar beside the coordinating parrot bowl to repeat the motif at a lower height. If adding faux flowers, keep the arrangement loose enough to show the jar’s shoulders and set the lid nearby.

Bring a light botanical illustration to your room with a blue and white porcelain parrot ginger jar.
